Pros

High salary, lots of overtime.

Cons

The colleagues are terrible, the boss is terrible, and they send you to do shitty assignments. Others get paid the salary for the work, while the boss can determine your performance rating. Obviously, they just use favoritism to give out extra money, and the performance bonuses all end up in the pockets of a small number of people. These bosses will never tell you this. This is why other people casually earn 10,000 more than you a month, while your salary is casually 10,000 less than theirs.

Also, under no circumstances should you join Department 11. There is a team leader surnamed Hung there who transferred all the personnel in one department to Yizhong that month, and no performance bonuses were given that month. Joining would just be a waste of time, and the pay is also much lower than everyone else’s. Watching others casually earn 70,000 or 80,000 while I earned less than 30,000, and still had to do shitty assignments, was awful. This is a predetermined job assignment. If you enter Department 11, do everything you can to leave—it is a very shady place! If you don’t believe me, go in yourself. If you think it’s great, then stay.

You can work as much overtime as you like; they basically don’t follow the Labor Standards Act. They just pretend to care. Feel free to report them to the labor bureau—every month, they could find a bunch of illegal overtime violations. Fourteen days of work followed by one day off, without considering employees’ wishes, is apparently perfectly reasonable. If you like working overtime, it’s a good place: holiday overtime pays double, and if you stay for another four hours after working overtime on a holiday, you get triple pay. It’s great fun. If you’re not afraid of dying and want to live a little longer, you can go there. Whether you’ll be alive to spend the money is something you can research afterward.
