Pros

The office colleagues are easy to get along with, and the atmosphere is generally harmonious. The senior management usually speaks quite kindly, and loud arguments are uncommon.

Meat is cheap to buy, and it is even cheaper when it is close to its expiration date. Occasionally, we cook a huge hot pot to eat.

Cons

Relations between colleagues are generally harmonious. If you do not have much work-related interaction with others, you can get through the day peacefully. However, when there is interaction, some colleagues bring their emotions into their work when they are busy, making it easy to get caught in the crossfire.

Senior management has extremely poor time-management skills. They like to assign tasks at the last minute or put things off, and there are no real processes. Employees' time is not treated as valuable. They especially like gathering a group of completely unrelated people for meetings, which usually have no focus or conclusion and very often run past the end of the workday, wasting everyone's life.

Occasionally, employees are asked to handle private matters for senior management's families that have nothing to do with their jobs. They brush off miscellaneous tasks by saying, “We are a family, so we should help one another.” When employees raise issues or point out unreasonable aspects of the work, they say that employees can be pushed to do more, that everyone must think of the company, and that everyone should cover for others more. The reality is that staffing is unevenly allocated. Positions requiring specialized skills often have only one or two people, so they cannot realistically be covered. Instead, these employees are frequently asked to take on unrelated odd jobs. Even when they take leave, there may be no technically qualified person to substitute for them, and it ultimately becomes completely taken for granted that they will be contacted on LINE after work or on holidays. Regardless of the position, everyone is eventually expected to take on additional miscellaneous duties, sometimes completely unrelated to their actual role, and this is treated as a reasonable labor reassignment while completely ignoring professional expertise. They may offer a token pay raise (and some people do not receive a raise at all).

You will hear many absurd statements based on very strange values. For example, managers are told not to be too kind to foreign workers and to treat them differently, and not to let them get too used to taking sick leave whenever something happens, otherwise they will often pretend to be ill; even if your leg is twisted and swollen like a pig, you should not casually take leave because the job uses your hands, not your feet—even though the office is on the third floor of a building with no elevator; store staff who have repeatedly said they cannot eat beef are told to eat beef; senior management likes to stare at surveillance cameras and has intense paranoid delusions of persecution; and so on.

Some employees and decision-makers show little awareness of gender respect in their words and actions. For example, only women are expected to clean the office, uncomfortable jokes are made during conversations, and there is occasional unwanted shoulder-clasping.

It is very annoying to be repeatedly pressured to solicit five-star Google reviews. When their own products receive customer complaints, they treat the complaints as the customers' fault. When someone becomes angry after receiving complaints, they may even say they reserve the right to pursue legal action. The management is so immature that it lacks the corresponding ability to handle crises. Both its operating methods and external communications are highly unprofessional, and there is a lot of negative history online that can be found with a simple search.

When they want to exploit people to get work done, they say, “We are a family”; when discussing benefits, employees are treated as people who should be forced to put up with things. It is a set of traditional-industry attitudes that have not kept up with the times. If you simply want to make a living and can ignore the frustration caused by the miscellaneous tasks and chaotic policies piled on top of one another, you might be able to stay until retirement.
