2. Employee-priced tickets or complimentary tickets

Cons

√ The company has frequent staff turnover. There are interviews almost every day, and new hires often leave after only a few days. It is common for only two employees to manage the listings, shipping, and marketing campaigns across more than 20 e-commerce platforms, as well as purchase orders from other companies and retail customers. Even though the existing workload is already impossible to finish, employees are also assigned a pile of additional outside tasks. Every campaign generates nearly 1,000 orders, and each shipment has to be recorded on video, so we often do not finish packing until after 7 or 8 p.m.

√ Weekly/monthly presentations are always scheduled right before the end of the workday, and each meeting lasts one or two hours.

√ You also have to respond to messages after work.

√ I took over the work of a previous employee who had resigned after only four days of training. I still did not fully understand many things, but when I tried to ask how they had been done before, the boss scolded me.

√ The ERP system did not have all the necessary permissions enabled. Since there were many orders that needed to be processed quickly, I temporarily borrowed a colleague’s account to submit the orders. The boss immediately assumed that I was dumping my work on my colleague and harshly reprimanded me. Afterward, the boss did not even apologize or say, “Sorry, I misunderstood you.”

√ I forgot to clock out once, and the company immediately issued a warning in the group chat. I arrived at work half an hour early every day and had never left on time, but that one incident was treated as if I had no intention of working.

√ For expired tickets, even without the invoices or payment records, employees were forced to go to the hotel to request a refund. The hotel refused because the information was incomplete, and the boss even said that if I could not get the refund, I did not need to return to the company. This was a procurement matter—what did it have to do with a marketing specialist?

√ The boss insisted on dragging employees into rental disputes with tenants and making them handle the disputes.

I am very glad that I eventually left this work environment, where it was completely impossible to be happy. My coworkers were all very nice and helped one another (although this good coworker also resigned later). This is a high-pressure, long-hours job, so think carefully before taking it!
