After being hired as a customer service engineer, I had to go to the headquarters in Hsinchu for training and to learn about the products. During that period, one supervisor in charge of training was extremely rude and spoke very bluntly. When asking you questions, if you tried to answer in your own way or wanted to think about the question and attempt an answer, as long as you got it wrong, this supervisor would put on a displeased expression and say harshly, “If you don’t know, then just say you don’t know. Don’t answer questions carelessly.” The whole experience made me feel extremely stressed. My previous job involved equipment maintenance, so I was already used to solving problems on my own and trying different ways of thinking. After coming here, I was suddenly expected to have no room for independent thought and could only give a single answer. Perhaps, as a customer service engineer dealing with clients, they wanted clients to feel that I and the company were professional and did not want us to make mistakes when answering questions in front of them. In the end, I realized that I disliked this supervisor and the work environment, so I resigned. It was an absolutely terrible work experience.
