Cons

1. New-hire turnover is high (from what I have seen, the average tenure is currently less than three months).

2. No overtime pay or compensatory leave in Taipei; 15 days of business travel to mainland China are exchanged for one day of compensatory leave.

3. Meetings are frequently scheduled during lunch breaks or 10 minutes before the end of the workday, usually lasting two hours. Documents or drawings are required on the same day after the meeting.

4. At least four employees, both senior and junior, were laid off before the Lunar New Year on the grounds of being unsuitable for their positions.

5. An employee was laid off on the afternoon of the year-end party.

6. A new employee who had been with the company for three days was laid off on the grounds of saving personnel costs.

7. Salaries are not paid until the fifth working day of each month; payment is delayed when it coincides with a public holiday or weekend.

8. Positions are reassigned arbitrarily. An engineering manager may suddenly be put in charge of the marketing department.

9. Employees are told that nothing except laptops may be placed in the office area, including water cups. Can anyone really go a whole day without drinking water?

10. The employee office area is described as a mobile office, and employees are often told to change seats arbitrarily, supposedly to save electricity for the company.
