五洲國際專利商標事務所
Pros

Leaving work on time, with no overtime.

Cons

1. The company atmosphere is very serious. Other than necessary communication, no one talks because the boss is constantly monitoring everyone through the glass door of the office next door. You will definitely be scolded for chatting. Even if you are discussing work with a colleague, you may be inexplicably scolded as soon as the boss sees you, with comments such as “figure it out yourself” or “don’t affect your colleague’s efficiency.” The boss also walks around constantly and scolds people whenever he sees them doing something differently from what he wants.

2. The company’s training for new employees is extremely disorganized and lacks any system. Perhaps the turnover rate is too high, but the entire company is very casual about training newcomers. The boss and supervisor take turns teaching things depending on their mood, and they do not communicate with each other (possibly because of point 4), so neither knows what the other has taught.

3. Every document must be revised by both the supervisor and the boss before it can be approved. However, their writing styles are completely different. It often takes 3–4 days to get through the supervisor’s revisions, only to be completely redone when it reaches the boss. It is common for a single article to take one or two weeks to complete.

4. The colleagues all seem very afraid of the boss. They do not dare ask about things they do not understand, because asking questions is treated as talking back. They only return to their seats and try to guess what the boss meant.

5. The boss makes disrespectful comments about women. For example, when a female newcomer asks a male colleague a question, he tells the female colleague not to seduce the male colleague.

6. The company requires employees to meet a monthly quota for the number of articles completed; otherwise, their pay is deducted. However, the quota is not adjusted according to the number of working days in the month. For example, in February, when there are fewer working days and the Lunar New Year holiday occurs, everyone had their pay deducted for failing to meet the quota.

7. When you request a long vacation (six days), the boss will threaten that if you are unwilling to accept pay calculated in a way that does not comply with the Labor Standards Act, you will not be allowed to take leave. (The original pay calculation should be the number of days worked that month divided by the number of working days; instead, it is changed to the number of days worked that month divided by the total number of days in the month.)

8. In addition to calculating pay in a way that does not comply with the Labor Standards Act, taking a long vacation will also result in the performance bonus mentioned in point 4 being deducted (calculated over three months, so the deduction amounts to three months’ worth of money), along with an entire month’s attendance bonus.
