Every day is extremely busy, from morning until night. It’s very fulfilling—so fulfilling that it makes you question your life.
The supervisors and managers are all the standard type who take advantage of anyone they can push around.
This job is well suited to people with very assertive personalities who can’t sit still.
1. The work covered by this job title is actually divided among three positions (materials control, purchasing, and quality control),
which means you have to take on at least the workload of three people.
2. The title says “Materials Management Administrative Assistant,”
but in reality, all kinds of miscellaneous factory tasks and consumables that need to be purchased are lumped into this position for you to handle.
Even things that other departments are unwilling to do are thrown at you.
On top of the work described above + item 6,
you’ll be busy every day until late, with absolutely no time for yourself.
3. The supervisor fawns over operators with long tenure and assertive personalities.
As described above, tasks they refuse to do are also handed over to you.
However, if you usually put up with everything and only protest once you’ve reached your limit,
the supervisor will completely ignore you and even snap at you,
because the only people he fears are those more aggressive and ruthless than he is.
4. The bonuses distributed by the company are already pitifully small,
and the amount each person receives is still calculated based on the rating given by the supervisor.
Even if you complete all the work that is actually “within your duties,”
if you don’t comply with the demands in item 6,
the supervisor will also decide that you are difficult to work with and give you a very low rating for not meeting the company’s needs.
5. The supervisor obsessively pressures you to reduce inventory,
constantly interfering with and criticizing your inventory levels.
Even if you do exactly as he says,
if a material shortage causes the production line to be unable to operate, the supervisor will push all the blame onto you,
and make you explain yourself to the other departments.
The pressure is enormous every day, and this is simply far beyond what anyone should have to bear under the title of “assistant.”
6. If you can finish all of the above within eight hours a day,
congratulations! He’ll still require you to work overtime until at least 8 p.m. every day + work a full shift every Saturday to do the operators’ jobs.
Then, on payday, he’ll give you an operator’s salary to humiliate you.
You might as well become an operator, earn the same amount, and deal with fewer miserable tasks.
7. If, after reading the above, you change your mind and decide to apply for an operator position,
I remind you to go back and reread item 3.
Everyone was raised by someone’s parents; I strongly suggest you don’t lose your mind and apply to this company.
