If it weren’t for the store manager at that shop being someone I could trust and being very protective of the younger staff at the store, as well as stepping up to speak for us store employees whenever problems arose, this would actually be a company that wastes your life.
It completely violates the Labor Standards Act. In the half a year I worked there, I never received a payslip. When I asked the company for one, they even required me to submit a report explaining why I needed it.
I still never received one even after leaving.
The owner of such a large company makes so much money yet exploits employees mercilessly. The listing on 104 says salaries start at NT$30,000, but working hours are nearly 11 hours every day. Sometimes working more than 12 hours is also common.
No wonder the turnover rate is so high. They deserve it. With these working hours, you could easily make NT$40,000–50,000 at a factory and wouldn’t even have to be yelled at by customers.
If you really want to work for FarEasTone, go to a directly operated store instead—it offers more security. Here, you get a fixed eight days off per month, and holidays marked in red on the calendar during the Lunar New Year aren’t compensated with substitute days off either. It’s basically a place where you’re expected to work yourself to death.
