Pros

It's not bad that night patrols are paid, but the farm manager doesn't do the patrols himself, so he manages the farm poorly. You can always tell at night when the fish are about to develop problems. It took almost a year to discover that the work the farm manager required to be done at night had been skipped—what a joke.

Cons

The farm manager is the owner's relative. He doesn't know how to raise fish yet loves to criticize and give directions, acting as though he knows what he's doing, while being completely unaware of his own incompetence. He can't lead employees in getting things done, and he gets unhappy whenever he sees employees taking a break. The owner and the farm manager especially like to emphasize personnel utilization; they won't be satisfied unless the employees are completely drained. At every meeting, the farm manager brings up strange ideas and demands that everyone agree with him. At one meeting, he even said that as long as you put on a good outward appearance, that's enough. In reality, the person with the real power is the farm manager. The owner spends all day in the office listening to the farm manager's nonsense. The farm manager has even said that the owner isn't necessarily right. The owner's orders have to be discussed with the farm manager before they can be carried out—he acts like he's more of a boss than the owner. Since I started working at this fish farm, on average one person has quit every month. While the other employees make up for the workload, the farm manager started thinking that they didn't need so many people and could save on wages, so they stopped hiring new employees. The workload for those still employed has grown larger and larger, and quite a few people's backs are already causing problems. But since the farm manager doesn't do the work himself, it doesn't affect him. In any case, the farm manager is the biggest toxic presence, and the owner has no intention of dealing with it. I suggest that anyone thinking of applying ask during the interview whether the farm manager's surname is Liu. If it is, don't come in and waste your time. Or, if you're really curious about just how bad the farm manager is, you can take a look—and help keep the tradition of one person quitting every month alive.
