The business and R&D department managers were both good and professional.
The interview was conducted by HR and two other managers from departments unrelated to this position.
Halfway through the interview, HR brought up my salary in front of the other two department managers, which was quite inappropriate.
The other two managers were not from the department this position belongs to. Under the principle followed by many companies that employees should not discuss salaries among themselves, they now knew my salary, even though they were in different departments from me and were not my direct supervisors.
Although many companies do circulate applicants’ information, including relatively confidential salary details, to future colleagues at the same level who are participating in the interview.
