Pros

Salary is paid on time, and labor and health insurance are handled in accordance with regulations.

Basically, holidays are observed on national holidays, but when there is a pet exhibition, you will be forced to give up your day off and provide support at the exhibition venue (though you will receive compensatory leave).

Cons

1. The company’s owners like to make grand promises to employees. They say salaries will be adjusted, but if you are not an employee they particularly like, they will keep putting it off, or directly say things like, “You don’t have the value for that salary yet”—that kind of nonsense.

2. The owner and his wife have extremely poor emotional intelligence. They think they are using both rewards and punishments, but in reality, they are simply cluelessly yelling at people.

They love bragging about how good they are to employees, but the turnover rate shows that it is just empty talk. On average, new hires do not even last a week before leaving. There was once a major outbreak of employee dissatisfaction with the company; 90% of the regular employees left. To them, employees are not assets, but expendable items that can simply be replaced by spending money to find new ones.

3. Work performed on holidays (national holidays) was not previously paid in accordance with regulations; they only began complying with the law after being reported.

For overtime, the first half hour is not counted, and payment only begins after exceeding half an hour—but you will be pressured into working that half hour for free.

Annual leave is calculated according to the company’s own rules, and they will use strange calculations to short you by 2–3 days.

4. The workload is extremely heavy; one person is used as three people, literally. It is the classic expectation that you work like a horse without eating like one. If you have any complaints, they call you “strawberry”—overly sensitive—and it is absolutely never their problem.

5. There are no benefits for the three major traditional festivals or other holidays (at most, they will give you a packet of cookies or something similar to brush you off).

Year-end bonuses are issued depending on the owner’s mood. There have been years when no year-end bonus was paid at all, and internal staff receive less than sales employees.

Furthermore, year-end bonuses are based on his subjective preference for employees. Although he says verbally that they are based on attendance and performance, in reality they have absolutely nothing to do with your work ability.

6. Employees may be required to sign confidentiality agreements and then be asked to do illegal things as part of their work.

My sincere advice: if you want to stay at this company for a long time, you had better learn how to flatter the owners. That way, even if your work is poor, you will not have a problem.

Conversely, if you genuinely want to do a good job and are capable, you had better be assertive enough to fight with them for what you want; otherwise, you will be treated as disposable.
