Content of the call before the interview: They directly asked whether I smoked. If I smoked, there was no need to come for the interview.
I received a call that morning arranging an interview for that afternoon. Although the time was agreed upon, the interviewer was late.
1. I applied for an Operations Manager position, but they asked me to provide past marketing planning and graphic design work... among other things, a complete proposal for the interviewer to review.
2. During the interview, the interviewer’s tone was quite arrogant. At the interview, I was criticized for everything, including my professional skills, expertise, and experience; they completely dismissed me as incompetent... Because I had not worked in the food industry, they looked down on what I could do.
3. They hoped to have someone handle marketing planning + graphic design + e-commerce and official website maintenance + Facebook event planning and execution + physical distribution channel development... for a monthly salary of NT$32,000–38,000.
4. I had already told the interviewer that if I was really that inadequate, we could end the interview to avoid wasting either party’s time, with each of us looking for a suitable company or employee. However, they insisted that I stay and continued criticizing me. Then, after 30 minutes, the interviewer made another counterattack: “We’ll discuss it internally with our supervisors and let you know.”
