The boss has strong professional expertise, and colleagues are always willing to answer questions (great coworkers). They share their knowledge, the employee benefits are good, and working hours are flexible. Overall, the company is quite good.
There is one major problem: the company’s two veterans (senior PMs) are the reason new employees cannot be retained and existing employees do not want to stay.
The veterans are allowed to make things difficult for the other PMs. For example, when a PM asks them a question, it depends on their mood whether they will answer. It would be one thing if they simply did not help, but they also obstruct others and tell the other PMs not to help or support one another with work matters.
In addition, there is a two-faced informant who moves between the veterans and the other employees. At first, you may think this person is nice, but they report everything others said in confidence to the veterans, then dig a trench as deep as a ravine for those people.
This company’s turnover rate is fairly high, mainly because of the severe internal conflicts. As long as you make the veterans unhappy, they will whisper in other people’s ears and speak negatively about you everywhere, accompanied by endless complaints. New and long-term employees alike will experience an overwhelming amount of negativity at the company.
If you think you can put on a daily performance of *Empresses in the Palace* and stay in a deceitful, backstabbing work environment while enjoying this atmosphere, you are welcome to apply and cultivate your emotional resilience and patience.
