正峰汽車貨運股份有限公司
Pros

The company provides lunch.

Afternoon snacks are provided.

Cons

The company operates as a vehicle-hauling company for truck drivers.

New employees' labor and health insurance are reported at the minimum wage, not their full salary.

The figures on the monthly salary slips are also falsified. They say employees actually receive more.

Maybe this is tax evasion... perhaps this is what the accounting firm taught them.

Clock-in records are all falsified; the clock-in records are changed almost every day.

If surveillance footage is reviewed, the employees' entry and exit times will not match their clock-in times.

They manage more than 100 drivers but divide operations among five companies.

The accounting firm considers this legitimate tax avoidance,

but there was also an embarrassing incident in which they had to pay more than NT$600,000 in corporate income tax.

Some of the affiliated drivers are frequently issued tickets.

Some drivers do not remain affiliated for long.

Drivers frequently replace and trade in their vehicles.

There are fuel fees every quarter and vehicle license taxes twice a year.

Every month, drivers' fuel receipts have to be entered. The receipts must also be sent for accounting so that a 5% tax amount can be used to offset the drivers' expenses. The key point is that there are more than a hundred receipts every month.

Driver-related problems occur frequently, and the accounting methods are inconsistent.

Every transaction has to be recorded three times: in a ledger, in the system, and in Excel.

At least four or five forms have to be completed for each procedure, and sometimes even more.

At the beginning of every month, the books have to be closed, and some clients have special requirements.

There are more than 100 clients, some with accounts worth only a few thousand dollars. There are rarely large settlements, yet closing the books is exhausting. The affiliated drivers are not screened for quality; many are bad-tempered, and there are not many who are easygoing either.

Some drivers have been working for a while but are heavily in debt.

They are often issued fines ranging from tens of thousands to over NT$100,000, and frequently cannot make ends meet.

Clients often owe money and fail to settle their accounts, eventually becoming bad debts...

You have to be extremely cautious when collecting payments, otherwise the driver may get upset and stop being affiliated with the company.

This is not a job for a human being.

I also heard that at least three or four new employees took over this position but quit shortly afterward. Some of them had work experience at accounting firms.

Even those with accounting-firm experience could not handle it.

If you are considering working here, think carefully.

Besides handling a huge volume of accounts, you also have to prepare many vehicle sale and purchase contracts and vehicle transfer-in and transfer-out contracts. Drivers who work diligently can basically make money and may eventually start their own trucking businesses. Those who do poorly remain in debt. It is truly a stark contrast... The likelihood of having a vehicle taken away is quite high.

You also have to deal with inspections and audits by the labor inspection authorities and labor department, which requires preparing a considerable amount of documentation.

You also have to deal with the National Taxation Bureau auditing a pile of accounts. The key issue is that even the tax officials cannot tell who has paid taxes and who has not. As a result, you may spend an entire afternoon helping them find tax payment slips, and there are also quite a few for which no tax slips were received.

Don't waste your time; you'll want to escape after only a few days...

You have to handle accounting, human resources, administration, and a pile of miscellaneous matters... as well as listen to other people's complaints.

The boss and his wife also interfere with the accounting methods. Even though there is already not enough time to do the books, you still have to listen to them explain things... There is often simply not enough time.

Accounting and insurance claims are currently handled by the boss's eldest son's girlfriend for accounting and the younger son's wife for insurance claims.

All I can say is that the trucking business is also a family business.

With no one willing to take over, they could only ask their own acquaintances to take over.

New employees can barely get away fast enough; the work is extremely difficult.
