Some colleagues are very nice
-The salary completely fails to comply with the Labor Standards Act. Completely not!
-The relationships among competitive colleagues are poor
Regarding the salary:
During the interview in February, I was told the salary would be around 20,000. Because it was stated vaguely, I assumed it meant the basic salary.
But later I found out it was exactly NT$20,000, which was not even the basic salary.
I was originally supposed to start near the end of the month, but then I received a call saying that, because of the 228 holiday weekend, I would start working in March instead.
Since the first Monday in March was March 4, the accountant said it would be calculated based on a “daily wage.”
The payday was April 10, and I received NT$12,000. I had not left early or been late for even a minute, and I had not taken a single day off.
Just like everyone else, I had genuinely worked 20 days.
At the time, I went to ask the accountant why my salary was NT$12,541. The accountant said, in a somewhat guilty-sounding manner, “I remember the boss said your salary was 20,000.”
I went back and calculated it again: 20,000 ÷ 30 days × 20 days worked, minus labor and health insurance contributions, resulted in this salary.
Regarding my colleagues:
Within three days of joining the company, I felt that some colleagues had poor relationships with one another. They would avoid speaking whenever possible. It was not an environment of healthy competition.
Later, it was also confirmed that their relationships were extremely poor...
There were many other very unpleasant things, but they might be more subjective, so I will not confuse everyone’s choices.
However, the salary and the company environment are facts, so I am only sharing these two points.
This was actually my worst work experience. I am not someone who can express my feelings face-to-face, and I did not want to say anything impulsively.
So I wrote a letter to the boss, listing the things I was dissatisfied with and the unfair treatment.
I resigned within a day or two after receiving my salary. I only worked there for about one month and 11 or 12 days.
After I submitted the letter, on the 10th of the following month, I received the exact same salary calculated in exactly the same way as the previous month.
In other words, that letter was completely useless.
At the time, I only wanted to find my next job as quickly as possible, so I did not report the company to the labor bureau. Looking back, I really regret it, but I still have all the evidence saved.
