There are very few employees, so there are no interpersonal problems.
Other than the supervisor, almost no employees can leave work on time, and employees have to take turns working Saturdays when they fall on public holidays.
The work is very rushed, and there is no clear division of responsibilities. The supervisor claims this is to help people become more familiar with the areas they are primarily responsible for, but it feels like there are simply too few staff members and everyone has to do multiple jobs. In the short time I worked there, I saw quite a few people come for interviews, but very few actually started working. Some even came for one day and then disappeared the next; the other employees seemed used to it. I do not recommend this job for anyone without relevant experience. If you cannot keep up with their demands, you may even have your pay deducted. Also, this company may not comply with the Labor Standards Act. During working hours, the supervisor required us not to take out our phones. I did not make a recording as evidence, so please just take this as something to consider: when someone interviewing asked about taking leave, the supervisor directly said that menstrual leave could not be taken because the company was very busy and no one would help with the work after the person took leave, blah blah—it was impossible to follow the Labor Standards Act.
Finally, saying this is definitely exposing the company, but I think salary is the most important issue, so I hope everyone knows: I originally intended to take this as an internship. The internship position listed on the job-search website offered NT$23,100 (which was extremely low for the work involved; the job posting even cursed at people who cared about the low salary, saying they would regret it for the rest of their lives). I am still a student and could not accommodate the company’s policy of working on Saturdays that fell on public holidays, and because my work efficiency did not meet their requirements, the contract was negotiated into an unpaid position, with a possibly nonexistent bonus serving as the “salary.” Why do I say it may not exist? Although I opened an account at the designated bank as requested, there was no further information about the salary after that. Not long after I started, the supervisor had me work on products that needed to be urgently put online. Are items that need to be sold for money so urgently really suitable to be assigned to an intern?
I do not know how this company has managed to stay in business until now.
