Pros

This is August Bakery.

Working daytime shifts on weekdays in a department store is cool and easy.

Front-of-house work—packing, packing, packing, and checking out, checking out—is easy.

Cons

There are a bunch of strange full-time coworkers.

The customer traffic and workload are like those at high-paying food-service jobs.

Everything is heavy, exhausting, and hot.

There’s no air conditioning, and the uniform is thick, so you sweat profusely all day.

In the nearly one year I worked there, the rules were changed almost every month.

There’s no overtime pay; closing duties always keep you there until 10:30 p.m. = =

They constantly nitpick about you being 1–2 minutes late and deduct it from your pay.

After your shift, you have to submit a bunch of information. If there’s an error or something they deem unreasonable, they start arguing.

I heard they plan to transform into a regular bakery, with more items in the future.

Even though they knew holiday pay would be delayed, they didn’t inform us and still made employees ask about it.

The new products are all made without much sincerity, and employees are expected to promote them.
