Pros

The assembly staff take good care of newcomers.

Cons

There is a lot of infighting. A tall, heavyset man said in front of the section manager that I could ask him anything and he would teach me, but when I had questions, he pretended not to hear me. He also falsely accused me of taking defective lamp housings. The problem was that I was called in by the section manager to learn with them only 10 minutes after they had started, and all the materials were already there by then.

The next day, I prepared cardboard boxes. (A company without a person responsible for preparing or tracking materials; they spent half an hour looking, but no one could find them.) After taking the items, I was told to organize them before pulling them away. While organizing, I blocked his path, so he asked me whether I was finished. When I said yes, he told me to move away. Apparently, there was no need to organize anything.

An older woman in packaging had a bad attitude. She told me to take my time teaching someone, then half an hour later said I was too slow and told me to go tape cardboard boxes on the side. Near the end of the workday, an assembly worker told me to first organize the unwanted cardboard boxes, otherwise they would have to use work time after the shift. When I was about to go out to organize them, the packaging woman asked what I was going to do and said the boxes could be dealt with after work. When I went back, the assembly woman asked why I had not gone to organize them. After I told her what had happened, I was the only one dragging the boxes after work. The assembly woman asked why no one was helping and how long it would take one person to finish. Only then did one or two people come over to help.

There was also a very thin middle-aged man who was unfriendly toward newcomers. When ordering drinks or lunch boxes, he would place the order without checking whether the newcomers wanted anything. The break area was a filthy, cluttered conveyor-belt area, and certain people had permanently assigned seats. Once, someone forgot to turn off the fan in the break area. The next day, all the fans in the break area were removed, so no one could use them.

On my last morning, I went straight to the section manager to resign. The manager even asked when I wanted to leave. I replied that I would leave immediately because I was going to look for another job and did not want to waste time. (My experience after working there for five days.)
