A good place to hone your workplace psychology skills
The company divides positions into those who pick up manure and those who eat meat. If you were not referred by someone important, you will be the one picking up manure.
Keep your eyes wide open and observe what everyone else is doing. Do not reveal your value too easily; this is not a company worth devoting what you have learned to.
Your probationary period will end on the day you lose your value to the company.
Whether your value lies in having the technical skills the team needs or in being willing to pick up manure, the company will do everything it can—using different approaches, both soft and hard—to persuade you, make you submit, or draw you a grand but unrealizable vision.
Do not believe what the company says about the future; believe what you can see happening right now.
You do not need to believe in the rules established by the company. In reality, senior management does whatever it wants. The system is merely a means for the company to rationalize unreasonable actions.
