1. How can it be that there are no reviews of this company here?
2. Department dinners every month, with $250 per person.
3. The employees generally get along pretty well (whether there is any scheming behind the scenes is impossible to know. Even if there is, you really have to say it is caused by the boss pitting people against each other).
4. You can receive one free pair of shoes every six months (you have to remember it yourself, because no one at the company will remind you).
If you want to come here to be exploited, you are truly welcome.
1. Being a supervisor here is really just for show. Supervisors have the title but no authority, so if you report anything to them, it is basically very difficult to get a good solution. Sometimes the supervisor will even tell you, “Go talk to the boss directly!” Need to take leave? Ask the boss yourself if you can take it! Want to negotiate for something? Ask the boss directly! Whatever you want to do, go straight to the boss~ Being a supervisor here is honestly very pitiful; to put it bluntly, you are just doing odd jobs~~
2. The boss is the kind of person who silently turns other people’s ideas into his own. You may initially propose something to him and he will completely shoot it down. Later, when he realizes that his own ideas do not perform well or are ineffective, he will say, “I think we could do OO,” even though these were ideas you proposed earlier. When he discovers that they work well, he will proudly take all the credit.
3. The boss often keeps problematic people around and leaves behind a huge mess. Simply put, when you start working here, you have to spend a long time cleaning up after the people before you. Most people who leave do so because they are unhappy about the boss distributing work unfairly, and because he clearly treats certain people especially well. He also pretends to understand things he does not understand and treats employees as if they were omnipotent, making one person do an excessive number of jobs. Who could be happy enduring that? Naturally, handovers before people leave are never complete either. Most departing employees feel that there was basically no handover when they first arrived; everything had to be figured out by themselves or in their own extra time. Why should I give my hard work to a new employee or the company? So they end things carelessly, perhaps leaving only a printed handover document while deleting the original files~
It is really almost the same for everyone~ Who is to blame? Blame the boss for never treating employees well~
4. As a boss, the last thing you should do is complain to employees or criticize other shareholders. The boss will criticize Employee B in front of Employee A, and even tell Employee B about another employee without understanding the situation. He will also gossip to people in other departments, creating friction among employees. The boss will even badmouth certain shareholders in front of employees or vendors~
5. The boss gets people to agree with him in various ways and then interprets their words however he wants. For example, he thinks a certain curry rice is not tasty and asks what you think. You answer, “It’s okay!” Then, in front of the person he wants to shoot down, he will say, “You think it’s not tasty—even XXX thinks it’s not tasty!!!!!” (Hello? What is wrong with you?)
6. He brings in professionals but does not trust professionals, because he is always right. If you propose changes, point out a superior market opportunity, or explain current trends to him, he will shoot you down based on his preconceived notions or his old-fashioned views that cannot keep up with the times. No matter how you explain it, it is useless. Until one day, when one of his beloved EMBA alumni says something, he will say, “My so-and-so says our website, strategy, and methods should be like this,” and only then will he be willing to try adjusting the current approach. It is laughable. Yes, whatever those people say is a decree from heaven, while anything said by his own employees is nonsense!
7. A boss who cannot put himself in others’ shoes is like this one: he uses overtime to judge whether an employee is serious and committed. Even if you work late, do not expect to hear him say, “Go home, it’s late!” It feels as though he would only care if you suddenly died at your desk. One former employee had a very serious case of influenza at the time, and the doctor stressed that they had to isolate and rest at home. He still told that employee to come in for half a day, and another colleague caught a severe cold as a result. During those days, that employee was called in to work while barely able to stay conscious, and the boss even suspected they were faking it and had not seen a doctor…. Enough already! He makes people come to work, while hiding in his office and rarely coming out because he is afraid of getting infected = = Does he not care whether employees live or die? There are also many employees with families and children in the company!
8. He constantly spouts so much nonsense that he could publish a whole “King of Nonsense” handbook~
His nonsense is like this: “Run this company as if it were your own, and move forward together.”
Who said this was your own company? Have you ever treated us like family? The gratitude that comes out of the boss’s mouth is so hypocritical that even the sperm still swimming around inside his body would find it hypocritical~
9. Overtime of less than one hour does not count as overtime. No matter how many hours you work overtime, you only get $150 for one hour, and never more~ Working on holidays does not come with double pay either; you only get one compensatory day off!
When you interview, they make it sound nice and directly give you seven days of leave, saying it is better than the Labor Standards Act~ Normally, under the Labor Standards Act, you receive annual leave after working for half a year, but when you resign, those four extra days they gave you will be taken back. So if you do not have enough annual leave to deduct those four days when you leave, they will directly deduct it from your salary~
10. When there is a vacancy, they do not hire a replacement. One person has to absorb the work of two or three people. Responsibility assignments are unclear, and the division of work is also unclear. Not only do they refuse to hire someone, they are unwilling to pay even a small bonus to show appreciation to the employees who are still willing to stay and work. They are unbelievably stingy~
Moreover, the boss loves using the word “assist” to rationalize quietly dumping work on you.
As soon as he tells you to “assist” with a project, nine times out of ten, it will become your job in the future!!!
11. I do not know whether this is a common problem among bosses, but he often changes his mind and goes back on what he has said. He is fussy and makes you repeatedly do pointless work: do it, change it; change it, then do it again; and keep changing it~~ It is a cycle~
12. To anyone thinking of joining this company in the future: under no circumstances should you tell the boss how extensive your network is, especially if it is related to the company’s business—for example, if you know a floor manager at a department store or an advertising vendor. This will bring you no benefit or help whatsoever. Even if you help the company, you will not receive a word of thanks; he will only think it was his own achievement~ As the saying goes, he takes the credit while the employees deal with the trouble~ You may even end up ruining your own reputation~ So I sincerely urge you all!
Oh, right! As far as I know, given the company’s current situation, a pay raise is not very likely. You may not even get a year-end bonus! Good luck!
13. He often takes on things beyond his capacity, insisting on taking powerful laxatives! Then, when he realizes that it is useless and there is no benefit even after nearly suffering a prolapse, he takes it out on the employees! Wow, what a great guy~
14. Basically, during interviews, just listen to what the boss says and do not take it too seriously. He does not understand the women’s market at all, yet he acts as if he knows everything. In fact, his reputation is already terrible among many department stores and vendors—so bad that it is downright embarrassing~~
15. The shoes kept in inventory here are stored in a warehouse on the top floor. In the hot summer weather, the shoes are stored at high temperatures, which is outrageous! High temperatures also increase the defect rate of the shoes, so the quality becomes difficult to vouch for~ Although there is air conditioning, it only runs during working hours; after work, it is turned off, with at most one fan left blowing away! (Is that useful?)
Actually, this is kind of a lot~ I cannot finish typing it all and I am a little tired. Describing a boss who pretends to know things he does not understand is really exhausting!
