The in-house colleagues are super, super, super nice.
They are like family. The reason I can’t bear to leave the company is because of them.
Although there aren’t many people, it’s easy to organize group purchases.
1. During the interview, they said that everything at the company followed the Labor Standards Act because they were afraid of being sued.
In reality, only the holidays follow the Labor Standards Act; the salary does not. The boss divides the salary into a bunch of separate items, and taking sick leave results in additional deductions from the allowances the boss has split out.
2. The working hours are 8:30–18:00, including an extra half hour.
The breakdown also includes an overtime allowance, but in reality, that money is simply carved out of the salary the boss initially told you about; it is just done this way out of fear of a government inspection. The boss also has falsified salary statements, likewise to avoid government inspection.
3. If you work in design, the boss will initially tell you that they want to break through conventions and make changes, so they let you design without restrictions.
But after you finish the design, they tell you that this and that won’t work, and that this and that can’t be used, imposing a bunch of constraints and then telling you that you are the one being limited by them.
Then they show you Japanese designs and tell you that this one is good and that one is good,
but the points they praise are exactly the things they previously told you were not acceptable,
which is extremely contradictory.
The boss’s statements almost always contradict themselves.
4. They constantly reuse old designs because the boss rejects all the new ones, saying that other people won’t understand what character they are.
5. If you want to experience earning a mere 28,000, minus labor and health insurance deductions—or being insured at the minimum salary of 23,100—and the sense of disappointment and helplessness from designing a bunch of images that are rejected by the boss’s contradictions, you can give it a try.
