Pros

The company environment is good, with sufficient lighting.

This is the same company as Hek Kuen Lun Shipping.

Cons

I encountered the following issues when I went to interview at this company. However, because the response category allows only one selection, I have listed the issues encountered below.

1. The actual job duties did not match the description: I applied for an administrative assistant position, but the interviewer kept asking whether I could develop business and whether I was interested in the business specialist position. They also told me that they rarely hire men for internal administrative positions, although it was not necessarily impossible, as ability was the main consideration.

2. Violation of labor-related laws and regulations: There were two interview supervisors, one man and one woman. During the interview, the male supervisor interviewed me in English and asked me to casually start a conversation on any topic. I chose my favorite television program, "RuPaul's Drag Race," and introduced the program and drag queens. However, some time after I finished the introduction, when the interview switched to Chinese, the interviewer unexpectedly said, "I’m not discriminating! I’m just asking—what is your sexual orientation?" At the time, I decided to play along and felt that the interviewer actually had the audacity to ask such a question, which violated provisions related to gender equality in employment and the Employment Service Act. I openly told him that I am gay, but basically, questions of this personal nature should not be raised during an interview in the first place!

3. Interviewees were required to submit written reflections on the interview in both Chinese and English afterward as a basis for talent selection, but this was not stated on the recruitment page or in the interview notice. In my opinion, without any tests, relying solely on an interview and unsupported verbal recommendations provides no basis for reference! (Moreover, I do not know whether I was the only one asked to provide interview reflections while other applicants were not. If I had actually sent the reflections, could this also have caused the company’s HR department inconvenience?)
