Overall, they were fairly polite, but the general manager really liked talking about things unrelated to the interview.
I originally applied for the administrative assistant position. During the conversation, I mentioned that I liked planning-related work, and the general manager said he would give me a second-interview assignment so I could give it a try—maybe I could work in planning. I agreed as well. After I went home, I waited two weeks without hearing anything. Later, I messaged to ask, and they said there had been an administrative oversight, so they never sent the assignment—and that they had already found someone.
To put it bluntly, they probably just forgot. If they had no intention of hiring for a planning position, or if they found someone more suitable, they didn’t have to force it. Why tell me there would be a second interview? Your time is valuable, but mine isn’t?
