These companies are all owned by the same person. I arrived early for the interview, but after waiting for an hour, the supervisor still had not come in. In the meantime, two assistants came in to briefly explain the company and its situation to me.

I interviewed for the position of Design Assistant and brought my portfolio and résumé. The résumé I submitted also included my online portfolio. After making me wait for two hours, the supervisor said that it would be difficult to hire me because I had never worked at a formal design firm.

Since they had already received my résumé and sent me an invitation, why had they not reviewed the applicant’s information carefully beforehand? I majored in a relevant field and have worked in design roles across many related industries. This was all stated in my résumé and portfolio, and I also explained it during the interview. If they required specific experience, why did they not review my background first before deciding whether to invite me? It was a waste of both our time.

The company looks like a foreign-owned business, but in reality it is a traditional local enterprise. Its thinking and internal culture are very old-fashioned. A company that does not know how to respect interviewees will not respect its internal employees in the future either.
