These four companies have the same owner. I arrived early for the interview, but after waiting for an hour, the supervisor still had not come in. In the meantime, two assistants came in to give me some information about the company and its current situation.

I interviewed for the design assistant position and brought my portfolio and résumé. The résumé I submitted also included a link to my online portfolio. After making me wait two hours, the supervisor said that because I had never worked at a formal design studio, it would be difficult to hire me.

Since they had already received my résumé and sent me an invitation, why didn’t they review the applicant’s information carefully beforehand? I majored in this field and have worked in design roles in many related industries. I had included this information in my portfolio and explained it as well. If experience was required, why didn’t they review my background first before deciding whether to invite me? It was a waste of both our time.

The company appears to be foreign-owned, but in reality it is a traditional manufacturing company. Its thinking and internal culture are very old-fashioned. A company that does not know how to respect interviewees will not respect its internal employees in the future either.
