When working overtime, the boss treats everyone to dinner..
The work environment is not very clean. The drainage ditch at the factory on the first floor breeds a lot of mosquitoes and other insects, and the restroom also smells terrible. You get bitten badly while working, so you have to buy your own mosquito repellent or anti-itch medicine to work more comfortably…
Because the company often cannot recruit an accountant and also owes suppliers money, the suppliers’ accountants can only call to demand payment, so the designers end up receiving the angry calls and getting severely berated. The pressure and atmosphere, both internally and externally, are poor. The boss is a pretty nice person, but sometimes he himself is not very clear about the business he is handling. As a result, designers make mistakes and place incorrect orders, which then have to be rearranged. Although I was never asked to pay for anything, it was still psychologically burdensome. The boss often arrives at the office very late—for example, only 30 minutes before the end of the workday—to assign tasks, so the work cannot be finished and overtime becomes necessary.
Overtime is paid by the hour, but overtime before 18:30 is unpaid, regardless of whether you have eaten or taken a break.
Regarding salary, if you take bereavement leave (yes, bereavement leave), sick leave, or are more than 30 minutes late, the company directly deducts the perfect-attendance bonus of 2,000. Although this does not comply with the Labor Standards Act, most people are too lazy to pursue the matter further.
The company’s business relies on an internet connection, but the connection often inexplicably goes down on rainy days. You can only spend the entire day dealing with the internet and phone lines, and even though work progress is delayed, you still have to work overtime to finish everything yourself.
There are also some other factors that are inappropriate to mention; I am only stating these objective points.
Overall, unless you are forced to, I do not recommend working here. You can count the number of newcomers who stay more than three months on one hand.
