Pros

One advantage, I suppose, is that their fan page posts about collaborations with artists, which suggests there are projects available to take on. I’m not sure whether that counts as an advantage, though, because the invitation felt really poor XD

Cons

I’m not sure whether this even counts as an interview, but this company’s invitation gave me a really bad impression.

They initially contacted me by email. I called back because I wanted to clarify the job responsibilities, as there were some discrepancies between the position and compensation they offered and the terms I had proposed. I wanted to ask why they were interested in interviewing me.

However, I couldn’t reach the appropriate contact person. Not long afterward, they sent another interview notification, and even scheduled a time. But I was puzzled: my questions still hadn’t been addressed, yet I was already being notified about an interview. I felt disrespected, so I politely declined.

I also explained in my email why I was declining and expressed my hope that they would find a suitable candidate. The message was a little over 100 Chinese characters—not long, but I hoped they would pay more attention in the future to job seekers’ time and thoughts.

Unexpectedly, they replied not long afterward. I thought they might say something like, “Sorry, we made you feel uncomfortable.” Instead, they simply replied:

“Fair enough. No need to waste time.”

I just hope this helps more job seekers understand the mindset of employers.
