You can eat lunch at the company; it’s free, and the food is decent.

You can stay steadily, but the turnover rate is very high.

1. The company actually doesn’t make much money. It made a little this year, which is why it is hiring.

2. The compensation is not very good. Part of the salary is tied to perfect attendance, so taking leave effectively means a pay cut. This is a major drawback.

3. Some of the engineering managers on the sixth floor yell quite loudly at people and are not very respectful. The managers really like displaying their authority.

4. Be careful of a certain manager responsible for computer-vision AI algorithms and embedded systems (whose English name starts with E and whose Chinese romanization is CYL). He was very friendly during the interview, but after joining, it was a different story. Knowing that employees in the alternative-service R&D program cannot leave, he likes to put on airs. Employees under him appear extremely respectful, but actually resent him privately. I have seen him humiliate very serious employees several times. According to coworkers, he even scolds HR, for no apparent reason.

5. This is a company where it is very difficult to get resources. Managers like to use rhetoric to shirk matters and place the responsibility on subordinates instead of helping them find solutions. They may imply that employees should use their own weekends to do work-related tasks.

6. Unless you are about to starve, I recommend not coming here—especially if you are in the alternative-service R&D program. The same applies to full-time employees.
