When you say you want to resign, they ask you a bunch of questions about why, then start treating you like an outsider and becoming suspicious of you or looking for trouble. They don’t trust people and are extremely defensive.
There is no year-end bonus or year-end party, and they try to sweep it under the rug. Only when asked do they announce it on the last day before the Lunar New Year. Layoffs happen after the New Year; getting a raise is impossible. They cut costs from employees to an extreme degree.
The boss is very unlikely to accept other people’s new ideas, listening only to themselves and believing they are always right. They are very difficult to change.
