Pros

The pay is very generous, and overtime is paid according to the Labor Standards Act. For people who place greater importance on a high salary, this job is a blessing because there is overtime every day.

Cons

The company was established more than 30 years ago, yet it has absolutely no systems or procedures. Every day, meetings can be held to discuss new work guidelines. In the less than half a month I worked there, three new work guidelines were established. The boss’s nitpicking and constant nagging are minor issues; the same matter can be discussed in meetings for an entire week, with the same thing repeated every day. Employees are also publicly humiliated during meetings.

Because the boss relies on Word and Excel, the company system merely helps employees insert customer information, saving them from typing a few characters. All other quotation details, such as item descriptions and prices, must be entered manually, which is extremely time-consuming. The company’s engineers have repeatedly suggested that manual data entry is outdated and inefficient, but nothing came of it.

The system does not help with work performance, and the boss calls meetings at the slightest provocation, forcing employees to work overtime every day.

The company has absolutely no trust in its employees. Except for the supervisors’ computers, none of the computers have internet access; all operations are performed by remotely connecting to terminals. The connection often lags or crashes. My position also frequently requires searching the internet for customers’ business registration information, so I have to spend additional time moving to another computer.

Moreover, without system support, there are many document files, and all Word and Excel files naturally need to be archived in folders. As a result, the company has thousands of folders, which are numerous and disorganized. Even the boss’s own child said, “How could it be this messy?” When documents cannot be found, they have to ask other supervisors. With tens of thousands of folders, not only is archiving troublesome, but finding information is even more difficult.
