There were two interviews. During the second interview, the manager was extremely disrespectful toward the candidate. They asked the candidate to introduce themselves but did not listen attentively, and repeatedly asked about things the candidate had already mentioned. Throughout the interview, the manager focused only on using their own phone and making phone calls. The position was for a sales assistant, but it felt as though the company hoped the candidate would eventually pursue a sales role. During the conversation, the manager would try to probe indirectly; if they sensed that the candidate was reluctant to work in sales, they would not hire them. The company’s job posting provided very little information, and during the interview they also did not clearly explain the details of the position.
