Cons

Our beauticians' working hours do not comply with the Labor Standards Act. We work from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day, and there is no actual meal break.

They make it sound nice by saying that we don't need to attend to customers during meal breaks, but in reality, that is simply impossible.

When the Labor Department came to inspect the company, the company changed our beauticians' working hours to standard working hours. We get eight days off per month, regardless of whether that month has four or five weeks.

They also told us to tell the Labor Department that everything at the company was normal, that our working hours were normal, and that there was no overtime. They said that if there were overtime, we would be paid overtime wages, but that was completely untrue. The latest we have ever gotten off work was 10 p.m.

The benefits stated that we would not need to make customer calls. When the number of customers declined, they told us to call customers. The supposed profit-sharing and shareholding opportunities were also a scam. The company makes money, but they always claim that it does not, and tell all of us to share the responsibility for meeting the performance target (an annual target of 8 million).

They also underreport our salaries for labor and health insurance. During the interview, they did not say that they would report only the minimum wage; we found out later that they report only the minimum wage.

The administrative supervisor upstairs often goes back on what they say, saying one thing today and doing another tomorrow. They also make illegal practices sound completely normal.

The supervisors themselves ride their scooters to buy things and go shopping during working hours, then tell us that we are not serious enough about our work.

Because the person is listed as a supervisor, they are effectively the person in charge; the actual owner is in China.

The shop was even vandalized once. The person in charge was too afraid to appear in person and only told us employees to tell those people that we did not know the owner. On at least three occasions, ferocious-looking unfamiliar men came asking to see the owner.

We only came here to work and seek stability, but now we even have to worry about our personal safety. It is truly terrifying!
