Before the boss’s wife got involved, the work atmosphere was harmonious.

The boss and his wife have different ideas. I witnessed two major arguments, which really made me feel like escaping the office. The boss uses staring and glaring to keep an eye on people, especially disliking office staff who do clerical work. The boss’s wife often says one thing and does another, frequently forgetting the work order she had previously requested, then criticizing you for not completing the task within the allotted time. Her titles are general manager, sales manager, human resources manager, and chair of the R&D meetings. She wants to control everything but does not delegate authority and does not want to take responsibility. She also constantly revises employees’ documents and materials; whenever someone resigns, she tells newcomers that she was the one who created those materials. To outsiders, customers, and new employees, she always puts on a smiling, kind, and approachable face, making it seem as though everything is open for discussion. However, when the boss thinks there are too many people in the office and the boss’s wife believes she can find someone cheaper, they resort to pressuring people to leave—for example, transferring them without discussion or asking them to clean and organize the entire floor.
