Applied for the position of “Japanese Brand Merchandise Management Specialist.” I received an interview call immediately after submitting my résumé, so I thought the company was genuinely hiring.
When I arrived, the supervisor (Ms. Le) was clearly at the company—because I heard an employee inside say they needed to bring documents to her for signing—yet they claimed that the supervisor was not there. Instead, they brought someone I had no idea who was to conduct the interview, without even introducing who she was.
They also did not invite me into the office. From beginning to end, I was standing at the company entrance, waiting at the entrance! The interview was conducted at the entrance! It was extremely disrespectful. It felt as though they had already chosen someone; they could simply have canceled the interview.
Why invite a job seeker over, pretend the supervisor was absent, and then make the applicant stand and interview at the entrance? They also wasted one of my résumés!
Three months later, the position is still posted. From what I can tell, either the company is so problematic that it cannot retain employees, or it was never seriously hiring in the first place. Don’t waste your time! I’m absolutely furious!
