Discounts for employees (the only advantage)
1. No year-end bonus, no annual party (the boss pretends to forget), and no holiday bonuses. There are practically no benefits at all! The boss has never treated us to a meal. The boss is extremely stingy and unwilling to spend even a little money, so many things in the store are old and worn out, especially the computers. They are always talking about cutting costs, which is unbelievable!
2. Both the boss and the boss's wife are extremely long-winded. They can talk about one thing for an insanely long time, and meetings also drag on forever, which is a complete waste of time!
When you do something well, they think it is only to be expected. If you do something poorly, you're finished—you'll be subjected to endless nagging! You can never meet their requirements and standards! Basically, no matter how you do things, they are never satisfied and will criticize you!
3. Store staff are paid a pitifully low salary, yet they expect you to manage an entire store on that meager pay! Put bluntly, you are basically a cheap store manager. You have to do an absurdly wide range of tasks and handle everything in the entire store. You even have to manage the fan page and be the dog sitter for their 13 dachshunds? Every day you have to clean the dog cages, deal with their waste and urine, and feed them! If one of the dogs gets sick or feels unwell, you're in for it—you'll be directly questioned about why you failed to take proper care of it and whether you fed it something it shouldn't have eaten. Then they will say that you lack sensitivity and ask how you expect to do a good job, and so on!
4. You are the only person working in the store; everyone else has their own duties. Therefore, you are responsible for every major and minor matter in the store. If something is not handled properly, the boss will hold you solely accountable and launch into another round of nagging, which is maddening!
5. The company mainly sells Japanese strollers, so the boss places great importance on them! Every detail has to meet his standards. If it does not, another attack of nagging begins! You will also be forced to work at exhibitions. They say you have to undergo the “exhibition baptism” so that you can become familiar with things quickly!
6. The boss also has another baby and children's store, so you may be required to learn how to introduce and assemble baby strollers or go to baby and children's exhibitions to give presentations… The whole thing is completely absurd. I clearly interviewed for a pet store position = =
7. You also have to put up with their three children, who run around the store making noise… Nothing you say gets through to them! It is impossible to concentrate on work, and the boss and his wife do not really supervise them either! At most, they scold them occasionally!
8. The company has two veteran employees. One of them has a fiery temper and is very good at shifting blame. Working with them will really exhaust you… They often take things and fail to put them back, or leave the store dirty and messy. If the boss sees it, you are the one who suffers… This is something you can only truly experience by actually working there!
9. The boss's management style is very difficult to agree with. They often do meaningless things that waste time. Customers say the employee turnover is very high. Yet the boss still thinks they are highly capable and that studying business administration makes them impressive?
In short, if you do not care at all about salary or benefits, do not care about the work environment or atmosphere, consider yourself extremely tough and easy to exploit, and approve of a very stingy boss, then you can go work there~ Otherwise, absolutely do not jump into this terrifying hellhole!
