No advantages

First of all, the interview was scheduled for 2:00 p.m., but the boss did not come in until 15 minutes later. As soon as he came in and looked at my portfolio, his attitude was dismissive. During the interview, he kept probing for inside information and gossip about my previous company.

At the very beginning, he said that the company would not hire people from companies in the same industry because it preferred to train recent graduates. However, they still arranged a second interview for me. During the process, I was unwilling to reveal inside information about my previous company to the boss, and in the end, after talking for only ten minutes, the boss abruptly ended the interview. I felt that this interview manner was very rude and disrespectful. If they were unwilling to hire people from companies in the same industry, why arrange an interview for me in the first place? After arranging a second interview, was it only to pry into the inside information of my previous company?

After I expressed that I was unwilling to discuss my previous company’s situation, he began attacking my previous company in other ways. I believe that if the purpose was merely to dig for internal information, there was no need to arrange an interview and waste both our time. I advise anyone who is not a recent graduate and has worked for a company in the same industry not to submit a résumé to this company, because it will only waste your time and leave you feeling humiliated.
