The office is in a great location and has a good environment. Most people are blinded by this and think it is a promising, well-funded company.
But! Because they cannot hire enough people and the monthly rent is too high, they have already started looking for other tenants. Once they find one, they will move out and relocate to a cheaper place.
I am also an employee +1. I am warning everyone from my painful experience: please, please do not choose this company!!! Overall, this is a Mainland Chinese, unscrupulous company with nothing but a lavish office shell hanging a blockchain sign while actually operating in an indescribable industry. After joining, you will discover that the blockchain and virtual currency projects are merely a front; their real purpose is not to seriously develop in this area at all. The products developed by the R&D team are all copied at the direction of senior management. At the beginning, they even intended to purchase one directly from a certain XXhood company near Taipei 101. The stablecoin they issued has no real trading volume whatsoever—it is all generated by bots and manual manipulation. It is not difficult to notice that there are many suspicious points: How could a startup have the audacity to rent an entire floor of the Nanshan Building? It has been established for half a year, so why is it still under 30 people while sharing an 800-ping office? If it is working on blockchain and virtual currency, why can you find almost no relevant information online? The person in charge's background is also completely unknown.....
The comrade from the previous post has already introduced a lot, so I will add some other aspects here:
Senior management:
The person surnamed Tsai that everyone finds online is not actually the person in charge of the company at all. He is merely a nominal front; his actual identity is the company's driver. (Don't you find it extremely strange for a driver to be listed as the person in charge??) The real person in charge is a man who calls himself “Chairman” and whose full name nobody even knows, along with his female partner, the CFO, whose relationship with him is difficult to describe. The other founders behind them are all mysterious figures. The Chairman is from Fujian but changed his nationality to Singaporean. He cannot even understand the word “software,” leading people to suspect that this wealthy man may not even have graduated from university. Why call him a nouveau riche? Because he has only money and absolutely no ability. Imagine someone who cannot even understand “software” working in blockchain?? He knows absolutely nothing about technology and does not respect professional expertise; he only makes demands according to his own methods. For example, he once demanded that the R&D team copy another company's app within 20 days. After seeing that the UI was “OK,” he disregarded the R&D team's advice and hurried everyone to launch it. In addition, every interview ultimately goes through the Chairman. Each interview ends within five minutes, and applicants are not allowed to ask about the company's future development or the advantages of 1SG. He says you can find those things online yourself... The hiring criteria are probably being cheap, durable, willing to work overtime, and pleasing to look at. (If you get hired, don't assume that you are technically outstanding or a promising young person; it only means you were the most cost-effective candidate in your batch. Congratulations.) The Chairman himself lives in a luxury mansion with monthly rent of several hundred thousand, yet repeatedly goes back on his word and refuses to pay employees year-end bonuses, hold a year-end banquet, or pay overtime. He is a truly unscrupulous employer.
Company culture
The culture of this company is that you receive no money, but must willingly work overtime for the company. The Chairman hopes everyone will work until 10 p.m. every day. Not only is it a 996 schedule, but employees are also expected to be on call at all times. (During the interview, they said overtime could be exchanged for compensatory leave, but if you actually report overtime, do you think it would definitely be approved?) The Chairman repeatedly emphasized in meetings that anyone who cannot accept an overtime culture should go work for a Fortune 500 company. Also, the company currently has very few products, so there is no genuine shortage of personnel. Take the R&D vacancies as an example: there are currently fewer than 10 people, but they request three people for every position. Why? Because half of the people they hire either leave on their own or are forced out under the pretext of being unsuitable. Quite a few people have already been forced out, and of course there have been even more voluntary resignations.
Company benefits
1. At first, this company lured everyone in by guaranteeing 14 months of salary. When it was time to pay the year-end bonus, however, they reneged for various reasons and refused to pay. In the end, department heads had to fight repeatedly based on their professional backgrounds before management agreed. Even then, they acted as if they were doing us a favor by giving us the money! Now they have asked HR to change it to 12+2 (the additional two months are subject to performance evaluation, so only part may be received). Everyone felt that no one would last until the following year at such a terrible company, so whether it was guaranteed or not no longer mattered.
2. Other benefits were changed to the three traditional holiday bonuses and 1,200 for birthdays. (Previously, it was 3,600 for each holiday and 6,000 for birthdays; it is expected that they will eventually stop providing anything at all.)
3. There is no year-end banquet or spring dinner. The company pays bonuses in its own stablecoin. (Last year, after canceling the year-end banquet, they gave each person 88 1SG.)
Summary:
This company is one that uses a glamorous office building to disguise its true nature. Do not be deceived by its appearance. After joining, you will discover that it is nothing like what you imagined or expected. The boss only wants to spend as little money as possible while making everyone work themselves to the bone for him, with an attitude of “I’m giving you money today, so you should kneel and flatter me.” The company's benefits and compensation are also nowhere near the level that a startup should offer, and they are even unwilling to provide year-end bonuses or a year-end banquet!! I am urging everyone reading this post so earnestly because I sincerely hope you will not follow in our footsteps. Too many people already regret falling into this trap and are struggling to climb out. Please do not waste any more time or your life here. There are countless good opportunities waiting for everyone out there! This place truly is not worth wasting your time on—unless you want to verify the statements above for yourself, in which case, welcome aboard~
