🤔
【Each of the two interviews lasted approximately two hours】
I spoke with the boss the first time, and two weeks later this supervisor called to notify me that I had been hired and would start work at the beginning of the following month (they would not send an offer letter). However, just a few days before I was due to start, I was suddenly notified that the supervisor wanted to talk with me again (At the time, I thought it was strange—why couldn't we discuss it after I started work?!).
That day, the supervisor even denied having met me during the first interview, insisting that I come a second time to “talk” (even though that supervisor had greeted me and given me a business card during the first interview 😤).
I went to the appointment as scheduled. They told me that the job responsibilities were completely different from the nature of the work I had discussed with the boss the first time (I replied that I was willing to learn and would need time, since the content was quite different from what I had done previously). I also stated that I was interested in the type of work discussed during the first interview. That supervisor actually replied: It would be impossible to hand Xx over to a newcomer……🤬 (Even though they had just kept praising a colleague who had only been there for a month, saying how capable and efficient they were… while criticizing how terrible the person who had previously left was 🤔). They also said that if I wanted to handle that part of the work in the future, that would be fine, but I would have to manage both responsibilities well myself 😕…
At the time, I also offered some suggestions for improvement… but she completely rejected them…… Everything had to be discussed together with the colleague who had only been there for a month!
In short, after the second interview, we again agreed that I would start work as scheduled at the beginning of the following month~
But not long after I got home, I received a call from that supervisor saying that she had told the boss I could not get up to speed immediately and therefore could not be hired……
😠😠😠
First) They gave me a completely different type of new job… What exactly does “get up to speed immediately” mean?!
Second) I had not even started yet—how did they know I was unsuitable?!
They even went back on their word after offering me the job…
