The interview location was filled with stationery and somewhat messy. I also had to take a freight elevator to the interview. For some reason, I could hear children there, and the first floor I entered felt like a stationery store, but it also seemed not to be open to the public. Large cardboard boxes were piled everywhere, making it difficult even to walk to the freight elevator. It was a very peculiar place, and I imagine working there would feel quite oppressive. The interview did not involve any questions about professional qualifications; it was very casual. They even asked about my Chinese zodiac sign and astrological sign, and I could smell incense being burned for worship. It seemed to be a company that places more emphasis on employees’ appearance, facial features, 八字 (Chinese astrology), and overall impression than on their actual work experience and qualifications. Therefore, I infer that their hiring is based on a certain feeling, and I suspect the work environment is probably the same.
