The boss or the boss’s wife occasionally treats employees to drinks or snacks.
Be careful about the short-term packer position. The boss will select employees they think are capable and ask you to work as a factory assistant—basically doing odd jobs.
They tell you that you can learn many things from this job.
They try to teach you everything within just half a day and expect you to learn it all.
They also say that if, during the meeting, they think you are not capable enough, they will replace you immediately, and you cannot go back to being a packer either (which means being fired directly).
They claim this was explained to you from the beginning.
But in fact, I have no memory of them ever mentioning this.
Also, when I applied, it was agreed that the job would be short-term.
Short-term would have been fine,
but they would only tell you on the very day that they no longer needed you.
If the boss thinks you are not capable enough, they simply do not want to employ you.
The reason they gave me was that the work was almost finished and they hoped I could work through today.
The person who told me this was not even the boss, but the factory affairs staff member.
I asked the boss whether my wages could be paid today.
The boss’s response was: “The company has its own procedures. We’ll let you know later whether the payment will be transferred or handled some other way.”
I was completely dumbfounded.
There are no employee lockers either. You can only hang your belongings on a row of small hooks or find a cardboard box to put them in, while surveillance cameras are monitoring you.
Women also have to carry heavy items, and if there are no men, they also have to help pack boxes for shipment.
