The interview really tested my ability to handle pressure.
When I arrived for the interview, it took me a long time to find the office on the designated floor. There was no logo or sign at the entrance. I eventually called, and an internal employee came out to show me where it was.
At the time, I estimated that there were about five employees in the large office area, along with two separate office rooms nearby.
A man with a slight smell of cigarette smoke came out on the right (presumably the boss), while a young woman came out on the other side. I was taken to the room in the back to wait for the interview. This is where things got interesting.
I don't know what they went to tell the boss, but he suddenly started loudly berating another employee.
He completely ignored the interviewee's presence and flew into a rage, yelling at the employee right in front of me.
The young female employee silently walked over and closed the door. Not long afterward, I heard things being smashed. Then the employee who had been berated came in to interview me as well.
Here's the key point: The previous time, the interview was rescheduled because they said the boss was not there. But during the actual interview, the boss did not appear to have any intention of coming in either.
So why did I reschedule for his sake?
I believe that the only person who could be that loud in the office would be someone at the very top. The employee who came in to interview me afterward had been inexplicably berated, so it was obviously impossible that she was the boss. It must have been the other person.
Because I had forgotten to bring my résumé, I filled one out by hand on-site. They may not interview many people, because while I was filling out the form, they kept asking me questions at the same time. It was very difficult to concentrate and answer, and I also found the situation baffling. This was the first interview I had attended where they did not wait for me to finish filling out the form, making it the least convenient interview I have ever had.
I got the general impression that the company was short-staffed but wanted to build a very large business. Would one person be responsible for an entire platform?
The salary was also unacceptably low, and the boss had a bad temper. Just from listening, I could tell that the workload would not be light.
The interview ended without much happening. I found another job within a week and disabled the notifications from the job bank.
So I don't know the outcome, but regardless of whether it was good or bad, I would never work there.
