I have been a distributor with Market America for over four years, and have operated it full-time for about three years.
The advantage is that if you choose the right team, you can meet many positive and proactive friends. Both the team and the company offer some good courses. The longer you operate, the more you realize that doing direct sales is actually about learning how to conduct yourself as a person (although many Market America people say they are not in direct sales, given the organizational structure, that is essentially what it is). Those who truly succeed at it must be people with a very positive influence.
During recruitment, many people say this is the best entrepreneurial opportunity for ordinary people.
But in my view, considering Taiwan’s current market, direct sellers are oversaturated. With online prices now transparent, it is basically impossible for an ordinary person to make money from retailing products, because your friends only need to search Google for “Market America cost price” to find the cost of all your products. Moreover, there are already 100,000 Market America distributors in Taiwan. If you casually post on Facebook, “I want to buy Market America products. Do any friends have access to cost prices?” I guarantee there will be a friend—or a friend of a friend—doing it.......
At Market America, if you really want to make money by selling its products, the only people who can probably do so are those whose main specialization is the Internet Center. But this is by no means a product line that an ordinary person can handle. First, think about it: if you have a regular job during the day, and a business owner is actually willing to discuss a website with you, would you take time off to meet them? In addition, the Internet Center product line genuinely requires more experience and connections, so it is unsuitable for ordinary people both in terms of time and technical ability. On top of that, many website-building and app companies have emerged in Taiwan over the past two or three years, making competition intense. To be honest, the interface of Market America’s Internet Center system is very user-unfriendly, and Taiwan’s online shopping market is also highly competitive. After finally selling a website, you may think recurring points will come in every month, but the one-year failure rate for small and medium-sized enterprises in Taiwan is 90%...........
So what are the people who actually make money at Market America like?
Based on my observations from over four years of operating it, these people have the following characteristics:
1. They already have a good income or position in their main line of work. This is closely related to their existing ability to solve problems, overcome difficulties, and lead organizations.
2. They are articulate. The true source of income at Market America still depends on how large your downline group is.
Many Market America people say that points flow in both directions (upline members can also pass performance points down to personally recruited downline members). But in reality, your upline members rarely pass points down, while your points will necessarily pass through them because of the system—unless they are exceptionally good at selling products themselves. Therefore, if you really want to join, first confirm whether your upline is genuinely good at selling products. You can even ask: “I will definitely give you at least 50 BV in performance every month (the minimum required volume). Can you guarantee that you will also let me receive at least 50 BV from you every month?”
3. They have a strong positive influence. After all, at least 90% of people do not make money (I mean after deducting all operating costs, not just the cost of purchasing products).
4. They recruit quickly enough, because the people below them also drop out very quickly! If recruitment is not fast enough, the entire team will soon collapse.
Market America’s理念 is actually quite good, but truly making money is very difficult! Whether your upline and the people you recruit are all genuinely committed to doing it is very important. There is a large element of luck involved. The abilities of those who succeed are certainly a key factor, but luck is also a major factor. Perhaps one day, your downline’s downline’s downline’s downline will recruit an exceptionally capable person, and you may rise along with them~
Overall, Market America sells a dream. It depends on how long you want to hold on to this beautiful dream. There is a chance of success, but are you one of those 5%?
