The supervisor berates people every day. During my time there, I never heard her praise anyone or refrain from berating people when she was in a good mood. Sometimes it was difficult to tell whether her behavior could be considered a personal attack. The office culture emphasizes working overtime as the way to demonstrate your value. There are ten-minute breaks in both the morning and afternoon, but almost no one in the office takes them. Some people continue working during the 12:00–12:50 lunch break as well. Working overtime until 9 p.m. every day is the norm.
