I worked as a temporary part-time staff member for this event company, and the pay was issued fairly quickly.
After working part-time for this company, I decided that even if I want to earn some extra money for myself on holidays in the future, I will not come back to this company~ The following points made me feel that this company disrespects part-time workers, so I am sharing them for everyone’s reference:
1. Strange staffing arrangements
The company forcibly assigned women to the men’s group because a female part-time worker dressed in a gender-neutral style. It was not that we were unwilling to move items, but after explaining that the physical demands were genuinely difficult to handle, they simply refused on the grounds that “the assignments have already been arranged.” There were clearly two or three male part-time workers in the women’s group, yet they still refused to make a change, which felt extremely discriminatory and disrespectful!
2. Part-time workers’ feedback was not only useless, but was even deliberately targeted
Later, there was a shortage of people in the women’s group, and the duties did not involve moving items, but they still refused to make a change and came up with a string of blame-shifting excuses. The gist of it was: “I can’t transfer you over there,” but then they could transfer another male worker over?!
In conclusion, it is not that women cannot move heavy objects; I had simply already tactfully explained the reason. Yet I still received no sincere effort to address the issue, and even when there was an opportunity to reassign staff, they continued to insist on doing things their own way! It made me feel completely disrespected!
