1. Extremely inefficient and disrespectful to job applicants.
The interview was scheduled for exactly on the hour. I arrived about 10 minutes early, spent around 10 minutes filling out the standardized resume form, and then sat at the small table by the entrance waiting. I waited for nearly 40 minutes.
I feel that the administrative staff member responsible for coordinating interviews was at fault in this regard, but the female manager who conducted the interview was an even bigger problem.
2. The company is very small.
Although the interview was for Zuoxiang Audiovisual Engineering Co., Ltd., the standardized resume form was for Lizhan Creative Integrated Marketing Co., Ltd., with no explanation whatsoever—just fill it out.
3. The female manager who conducted the interview was extremely rude.
She was wearing slippers and had messy hair. Although I was applying for a design position, she did not even look at my portfolio. Since I had already developed a negative impression of the company, I did not ask for an introduction either; I just wanted to leave as soon as possible.
At the start of the interview, I introduced myself. Less than a minute in, I mentioned that I had left my previous job because the company was relocating to mainland China. The female manager immediately asked why I had not chosen to go with them. I explained that the relocation package and conditions were not satisfactory, and that was when the female manager began her rude line of questioning.
She said that designers only carry out tasks, while the people who actually use their brains are the design directors at outsourced companies. She also said that at your company’s Shanghai branch, you could hire someone to do the hands-on work for only a few thousand dollars. I almost wanted to report you for exploiting workers! How much are prices and salaries in Shanghai? And you are telling me that you can hire someone for a few thousand dollars? That salary is what my previous company paid to hire people in a second-tier city.
Your perspective is not broad enough and your knowledge is shallow. You seem to think you are extremely impressive. I suggest that you get out more and see the world instead of being a frog in a well.
4. This truly is the rudest company I have ever encountered in an interview.
