It just feels like a big company.
I applied for a graphic design position.
I included a portfolio with my résumé, but only after I was asked to come in for an interview did they tell me that my portfolio style wasn’t a good fit. My portfolio is more in a clean, cute style, and my work experience is primarily in layout design. If that’s the case, don’t waste your time applying. They’re looking for someone whose work matches their style and who can demonstrate creative concepts and ideas. I carefully read the job description and researched some of the company’s work, and I thought I was a good fit—that’s why I was willing to travel such a long way to give it a try. In the end, they didn’t respect the interviewee, were too lazy to review the résumé, and wasted two hours of my round-trip travel time and transportation costs. = =
