紹宇實業有限公司
Pros

Makes you homesick

Cons

The job is in Dongguan, mainland China. Because of certain issues, two additional companies, "Chaoyue Electronics" and "Suzhou Yaoxin," were established. In reality, they manufacture plastic products, not electronics; all three are the same company.

1. You have to pay for your first round-trip plane ticket yourself.

2. Food: The company provides meals. You eat in the cafeteria together with mainland Chinese employees. The daily budget is 8 yuan—note that this is a budget of 8 yuan per day, not per meal. I once found cockroach eggs in the food. I alerted the kitchen, but the kitchen worker did not believe that cockroaches lay eggs.

3. You live in a dormitory that could almost be called an unfinished shell. The cockroach and rat infestations are impossible to eliminate; every day, you will see and hear rats squeaking. There is one hot-water faucet and one cold-water faucet for bathing, three meters apart. You have to mix the water in a washbasin yourself and sponge-bathe. It is absolutely impossible to survive there in winter. One Taiwanese employee could not get used to it and moved outside (near a police station). Within a few days, the lock on his room was forced open, and everything was stolen.

4. The mainland Chinese employees bully the Taiwanese employees. Your Taiwanese supervisor is incompetent and cowardly, has been bullied for a long time, and will not speak up for you; the boss does not care.

5. The workforce has been reduced by 50% over the past year. The company is probably close to going under and likely does not have the money to hire Taiwanese employees either.

Taiwanese employees are paid 7,500 RMB before tax. After deducting the mandatory social insurance and housing fund, which Taiwanese employees cannot use, as well as dormitory electricity fees, take-home pay has never exceeded 7,000 RMB. Even a 30-year-old sales employee earns the same amount.
