During the interview, the HR representative seemed friendly on the surface, but asked very tricky questions and questioned every single reason for leaving a job on your résumé!

It is recommended that you prepare a vague, official explanation for leaving your previous job before the interview. They listen very carefully and ask some very bizarre questions.

The last question was extremely invasive and shocked me: “You’re around 30—are you considering getting married? Will you have children?”

They seem very afraid that employees who plan to get married will join and then soon take marriage leave or maternity leave.... The moment she asked this question... I knew this company was absolutely not okay. Later, the marketing manager who interviewed me liked to use a lot of marketing jargon, deliberately testing whether you understood it or not ==

They spoke very impatiently and kept looking at their phone, presumably because they were extremely busy~~ When I brought a portfolio to share my work experience, I was interrupted before I had even spoken for a minute~ That was quite disrespectful to the interviewee. From these small details, you can tell that this company really does not value or respect its workers. Anyone considering joining should think twice... Let me also share the benefits HR told me about—I’ve never encountered benefits this poor == Haha...

1. Working hours: 9:00–18:00, with a one-hour break in between~ ((Normal))

2. Working on holidays means taking compensatory leave, with no extra pay; overtime on regular workdays is under a “responsibility system,” with no overtime pay~ ((Most companies are like this.. How sad))

3. If you are late even once in a month, you lose the NT$1,000 perfect-attendance bonus. It is called a bonus, but it is actually deducted from your own salary ((For example, if the salary agreed upon during the interview was NT$33K, it is actually NT$32K + NT$1K. Any leave or lateness means that NT$1,000 disappears from your salary~~ So they call it a bonus, but it is clearly a deduction from your own salary!!!!)) This is truly awful—so unbelievably bad!!!

4. Before leaving work every day, you must submit two forms: one is a work log for that day, and the other is a list of the tasks you plan to do the next day. You have to email both to your supervisor before you can leave work; every month, you also have to score your own work-efficiency KPI~. The results affect your year-end bonus. HR hinted to me that, of course, supervisors keep an eye on everyone’s work efficiency and ability, and if you give yourself a very high score, you will be called in for a meeting.....

5. The year-end bonus is not paid all at once. They are afraid that many people will stay until receiving the bonus and then resign, so the year-end bonus is paid quarterly. If you resign in June, congratulations~ you will not receive the bonuses for the next two quarters!

6. Apparently, every two months or so (I don’t quite remember), there is an employee purchase day. You can buy the company’s products at wholesale prices, and defective products can be purchased at an even lower price. But this did not appeal to me much. After hearing that long list of “company benefits,” I would rather just remain an ordinary consumer~~~~ I’m afraid that after joining, I would hate all the brands they represent even more XD

In conclusion: A good company would not restrict its employees with so many rules. Usually, only companies with extremely high turnover come up with so many bizarre methods to keep their employees in line. I’m glad I ultimately did not choose this company, because after hearing about these benefits, I had absolutely no desire or motivation to continue working there~~~~~
