I saw the job posting on PTT’s job board (XXXX and XXXX—the job title alone was exploitative enough; one person was expected to take on two roles ==). During the interview, two people who seemed to be managers kept asking detailed questions about my previous company’s work and procedures, down to how to operate XXX and so on. The more I thought about it, the more I felt that some of the technical information wasn’t appropriate to disclose, so I made up an answer for them. After 30 minutes of interviewing, they still hadn’t mentioned the responsibilities of the position, and I had to keep asking. At the end, the female manager even asked what kinds of movies I liked and whether I watched Marvel films. (What does that have to do with the job? It felt like they were just brushing off the applicant.)

The process was unprofessional and disrespectful to applicants. They also said they would notify me within two weeks regardless of whether I was hired, but of course they never did. Most importantly, they never asked about my expected salary. How could they consider whether to hire me without knowing my salary expectations? Of course, I didn’t want to work for this kind of company either, so I didn’t proactively ask about the expected salary.

When recruiting on PTT, they repeatedly emphasized that the office had cats and barbells. Having cats is pointless if you don’t respect people.
