Workplace reviews and discussion: 鳳凰貿易有限公司

In May 2018, I received an interview invitation from Phoenix Trading for the position of “Marketing Planner.” Both the title and the body stated “excellent benefits” and “urgent hiring,” so I thought the compensation should be good and agreed to attend the interview. After filling out a long basic-information form on the first floor, I was directed to a retro, luxurious living room on the second floor to interview with a female general manager. After looking up information online, I discovered that most of this company’s work involved brokering foreign workers, which had nothing to do with the position I applied for. I went to the interview with doubts.

The female general manager said they were looking for someone with “at least a university degree and more than five years of relevant work experience,” and asked me to show examples of my previous work. The general manager then told me on the spot that I had been hired, but the salary was only NT$28,000.................. I felt like I had been tricked. Later, when I received more interview invitations from this company in June, July, and August, I simply deleted them.
